1958 Junior Rose Bowl Champs To Be Inducted Into SMC Sports Hall of Fame The undefeated 1958 Santa Monica College football team – champions of the Junior Rose Bowl that drew 50,000 fans half a century ago – will be inducted Nov. 8 into the SMC Sports Hall of Fame. About 20 of the players from that legendary team, all of them now in their late 60s to early 70s, are expected to attend the private induction ceremony. More >>

Measure AA on Ballot in Tuesday’s Election In what is expected to be an unprecedented turnout, voters across the country will choose a new president and have their say on many other races and propositions on the ballot. Voters in the Santa Monica Community College District – made up Santa Monica and Malibu – will also vote on Measure AA, SMC’s $295 million bond measure. Measure AA will improve job and career training facilities in science, nursing, new media and high tech fields; modernize math and science laboratories; replace, upgrade and carry out fire and seismic safety upgrades; and allow the college to implement green building and other sustainability initiatives.

Music Department Takes Broad Stage By Storm First, it was the sold-out Music Department Grand Opening Concert at the stunning new Broad Stage at the SMC Performing Arts Center. And now, SMC’s top-notch music students take The Broad Stage in the Applied Music Program Benefit Concert on Nov. 2.
