Adjunct
math professor Stephanie Maiman
is the winner of the March Missed Information
Online "Website of the Month" contest. But
don't expect treatises on math formulas or theorems -- her
winning website is called the Stephanie Maiman Gallery and
features her artwork.
The website not only displays her beautiful
oils, pastels and portraits, it contains a lively biography
of the Venice artist with pictures of her in Jamaica, where
she taught children, and a recounting of the discovery of
her artistic abilities while living in Charlottesville, Va.
Check it out at http://www.smaiman.com
Stephanie wins two tickets to "An Evening
of Cuban Delights," the SMC Symphony Orchestra's CubaFest
2002 concert May 4 at the First United Methodist Church in
Santa Monica. Our thanks to James Smith,
conductor and Music Department chair, as well as Marge
Windish of the Music Department, for donating this
month's prize.
Now it's your turn -- submit your website for the April contest.
The site you submit can be part of SMC's web page or can be
completely separate from it. The only requirement is that
you (the contest entrant) must be featured on, or affiliated
with, the site somehow. If you submitted for the March contest
and did not win, you are welcome to enter again -- as many
times as you would like.
Entries must be received by April
15. All you have to do is send an email to Bruce
Smith, public information officer,
at bsmith@smc.edu
listing your name, job title, and the website address. The
winner will be announced in the May 1 issue.
