In Memoriam
Pete Barrett,
a long-time donor and supporter of SMC, died Dec. 27 at the
age of 80. The SMC art gallery is named after Pete and his
surviving wife Susan,
who serves on the SMC Foundation Board.
Lilian Staple
– who taught art and art history at SMC for nearly 30
years through Emeritus College, community services and the
art department – died Jan. 10 at the age of 82.
Jayne Thomas,
an adjunct psychology professor who had taught at SMC since
1988, died Dec. 23 at the age of 66. A memorial service will
be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16 at Brentwood Presbyterian
