Crisis Forcing College to Look at 30% Cuts
Faced
with the double whammy of deep state budget cuts and major
increases in such expenses as employee retirement and insurance
benefits, the SMC Board of Trustees approved last week a
tentative 2002-03 budget that will require the college to
make $8 million in cuts.

week to purchase a brand new office building in downtown
Santa Monica as a permanent home for the program.
