SMC Board Appoints
Citizens Bond Oversight Committee

 Moving
quickly to begin implementing Measure U, the $160 million
bond measure to fund capital improvement projects at SMC,
the SMC Board of Trustees has appointed a Citizens Bond
Oversight Committee as required by state law.

In Memoriam
Darrell Peterson,
who taught math at SMC for 43 years, died April 14 while sleeping
in his Santa Monica home. He was 77. Peterson taught math
at SMC from 1956 to 1999, serving as chair from 1987 to 1995.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4
at Westwood Presbyterian Church, 10822 Wilshire Blvd.
