SMC Newsmakers
A new series of paintings by
art professor Marc Trujillo will be exhibited Nov.
6-29 at the Hackett-Freedman
Gallery in San Francisco.
The gallery describes the works as “consummately
composed and exquisitely brushed” and says they “capture
the big box retail stores, self-service gas stations,
and fast-food chains that make up a large portion of
our urban environment.”
SMC President Dr.
Piedad F. Robertson is the author of a piece published on the
online version of the New
York Times. Headlined, “Women
Still Face Barriers in Higher Education,” the piece is part of NYTimes.com’s
College Presidential Perspectives page.
Counselor Linda Webster is
the custom editor of a new textbook, Orientation
to College Learning. The
book, customized to SMC, is used in the college’s
Student Success Seminar course.
