In Memoriam
Dr. Alfred T. Quinn – the first African American teacher in Santa Monica and a former SMC trustee, dean and professor – died Feb. 26 at the age of 80. Quinn taught sociology and held administrative posts at SMC from 1951 until his retirement in 1988 and served on the SMC Board of Trustees from 1990 to 1994, including a one-year stint as chair.
