YOUNG, Anne


Anne Lloyd Young has been a member of the music faculty at Santa Monica College since 1965 and is an Artist in Residence at Whittier College. She is the Music Director for Recorder Players West and is a founding member of L'Antica Musica Consort, a chamber music ensemble specializing in medieval, renaissance and baroque works. Since 1965, she has been the first clarinetist with the Rio Hondo Symphony Orchestra and appears as a free lance musician on clarinet and recorders in the Los Angeles area. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has toured the United States, Canada and Europe. She is a conductor for the Southern California Recorder Society and Orange County Recorder Society. She holds degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and CSU Los Angeles and is listed in the international Who's Who in Music.
