Gary Gray, accompanist, is active as an accompanist,
musical directorand occasional conductor. Mr. Gray holds a Bachelor of Music
degree in PianoPerformance from the University of the Pacific and and a
Master of Musicdegree in Accompanying from the University of Southern California.
He ison the staff of the Music Department at Santa Monica College. Aside
fromhis academic pursuits, Mr. Gray frequently busies himself in musical
theatre,having accompanied or musical directed over forty productions. As
musicaldirector, he received a Drama-Logue award for Best Musical Direction
forThe Fantasticks, which he also co-produced. He has also musical directedseven
productions for the SMC Theatre Arts Department and has taught theSMC Musical
Theatre Workshop. During April of 1997 he traveled with SMC1sproduction
of Once On This Island to the American College Theater Festivalat the Kennedy
Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. Mr. Grayhas also served
as conductor for the Santa Monica College Opera Theatreproductions of The
Marriage of Figaro and Die Fledermaus.
