Dr. Jung Eun Kim began her piano studies at the age of 5 in Seoul, Korea.In order to further her studies, Dr. Kim came to the United States and studied with Paul Hersh and Mack McCray at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music,where she received her bachelor degree. Dr. Kim then went on to study with Daniel Pollack and Nancy Bricard at the University of Southern California where she won the Concerto Competition. She received her master and doctoral degrees from the University of Southern California, where she graduated with honors.
Dr Kim has performed in numerous concerts in the United States, Japan, Europe and Korea, both as a soloist and as a chamber nusician. In 1983,she was also invited to Rome Music Festival to perform a series of concerts.In 1988, she was also invited to perform with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestrato celebrate the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. She also performed in the Los AngelesCoounty Museum, which was broadcast live on KUSC-FM. In addition, she performed as a soloist with Korea National Philharmonic Orchestra, Los Angeles Seoul Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Classical Chamber Ensemble and GlendaleCollege Orchestra.
As a teacher, Dr. Kim's students have enjoyed a great deal of success.Under her guidance, many of her students have an excellent acceptance rate with scholarships at such renowned schools as USC, Indiana University, Julliard School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Eastman School of Music. Currently, Dr. Kim teaches at Santa Monica College.
