LOUISE LEPLEY, Piano Instructor, Santa Monica College since 1986. Chair,Piano Department, Colburn School of Performing Arts; former Instructor, University of Southern California and Golden West College. Earned Bachelor of Arts Degree, University of California-Berkeley; Master of MusicDegree, Syracuse University; Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Piano Performance, University of Southern California.

Numerous solo and ensemble performances on piano and harpsichord. Her students have distinguished themselves consistently in many music competitions and festivals. Received the June Davison Award for excellence in teaching,USC, 1983. Named "Distinguished Teacher of 1997" by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars and "Exemplary Teacher"by the U. S. Department of Education. Served on Editorial Board for "Music Teacher" magazine, 1993-1998; author of numerous articles in professional journals and a chapter in "The Well-Tempered Music Teacher," first edition, published by Schirmer Books. State Chair for Music Teachers National Association's High School Performance Competitions. Professional affiliations include: MTNA, Music Teachers of California, College Music Society and Pi Kappa Lambda.
