RUSS 1, ELEMENTARY RUSSIAN I 5 UNITS
Transfer: UC, CSU • IGETC Foreign Language (required for UC only) • Prerequisite: None.
Using a communicative approach, this course develops a student’s ability to understand, speak, read, and write simple Russian. Emphasis is given to the fundamentals of pronunciation, grammar, practical vocabulary, and sentence structure. Readings and class discussion on contemporary Russian life, history, and culture are included.
