Internship Program

There are three types of Internship Programs: General Internship, Internship, and Cooperative Work Experience.

•   In these programs, students enhance their classroom learning by working on-campus or off-campus jobs. Through the work experiences, students achieve LEARNING OBJECTIVES designed to help them expand their career options, learn about the “work culture” and develop new job skills.

•   Students earn college credit based on the number of internship hours worked. EACH UNIT OF COLLEGE CREDIT REQUIRES 75 PAID OR 60 UNPAID (VOLUNTEER) HOURS OF WORK PER SEMESTER.

•   F-1 students must see the Immigration Coordinator at IEC before enrolling.

For further information or for help in finding an internship, call the Internship Program staff of the Career Services Center, (310) 434-4337, or go to our website www.smc.edu/internship.
