SMC Continuing & Community Education, in cooperation with SMC’s Kinesiology, Dance, and Recreation department, offers two Physical Education Table Tennis classes to the Sunday Recreational Sports program. Please refer to the “Kinesiology Physical Education” sections of SMC’s Fall 2007 Schedule of Classes for details regarding the KIN PE 53A and KIN PE 53B Table Tennis classes. The Santa Monica Swim Center at SMC’s Main Campus offers public recreational and lap (fitness) swim sessions and a variety of aquatics classes and programs through City of Santa Monica Community Aquatics. The Swim Center is located at 2225 16th St. (between Pico Blvd. and Pearl St.) and features an Olympic-size competition pool and a 10-lane lap pool. Admission for Santa Monica residents is $2.50 for adults, $1.25 for seniors and students, and $1 for children. For others, admission is $5 for adults, $2.50 for seniors and students, and $2 for children. Discount passes are available. Hours vary. Come enjoy a casual jog or a brisk run on SMC’s recently refurbished track at Corsair Stadium. Originally built for the 1984 Olympics, the track features a synthetic surface that is durable and resilient in all weather conditions. Use of the track for your personal fitness program is free. Early mornings and evenings are particularly popular times, but SMC’s track may be used whenever an event or athletic instruction is not scheduled. For details, please call (310) 434-4310.
