The SMC Bookstore sells new and used textbooks, a selection of current fiction and nonfiction paperbacks, iPods and Mac computers, school and office supplies, campus sweat- and T-shirts, and art and drafting materials. The Bookstore also stocks class schedules and the SMC Catalog (which is updated annually).
At specified times, the Bookstore hosts buyback sessions for many of the textbooks purchased for classes at the College. The agency conducting the buy determines ALL prices offered for buybacks, and estimates will NOT be given over the phone. Buyback sessions are held ONLY at the Bookstore on SMC’s main campus. Buybacks are held during the first week of the Fall and Spring semesters and the Summer and Winter sessions, as well as during the week final exams are held each term. For specific times that buybacks will be held, please check with the Bookstore’s main campus branch.
Students with disabilities may find some areas of the Bookstore inaccessible—please request assistance. A current booklist for classes is available through the Center for Students with Disabilities.
The Online Bookstore (go to www.smc.edu/bookstore and click on the “Online Bookstore” link) offers some especially convenient features. Students may browse through a catalog of items or search for a specific title, make purchases on the spot, and have their order shipped directly to their home.
The Fall Semester booklist will be posted in all Bookstore branches, as well as on the Bookstore’s webpage, on Monday, May 5. Please see the Bookstore’s webpage for information on deadlines for a full refund on returned books. Note that all refunds for books—even those purchased at satellite branches—will be given at the Bookstore’s main campus branch ONLY.
Hours for the Bookstore’s main campus branch are:
Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
Friday 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Hours for the Bookstore branches at SMC’s satellite campuses vary. Please call the branch directly to check hours.
All Bookstore branches will be closed May 23-26, June 27, July 4, September 1, November 10, November 27-30, and December 20, 2008-January 4, 2009.
