Basic Skills – Noncredit
SMC’s CAHSEE GRAD Program is designed for students who have not completed the requirements for a high school diploma because they lack sufficient units or they need to pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). Students who are age 18 or older and have not earned their high school diploma may be eligible for the CAHSEE GRAD Program. For more information, please call or stop by the CAHSEE GRAD office. The program provides:
• Test preparation and instruction;
• Academic and career counseling;
• Tutoring;
• Computer lab; and
• Study materials.
Students participating in this program will be able to earn their high school diploma by satisfactorily completing SMC’s credit recovery courses—which include mathematics, English, history, life science, and other disciplines—and/or by receiving test preparation to pass the CAHSEE.
