Scholars students may participate in a unique Study Abroad Program here at Santa Monica College and receive Scholars credit for selected courses.RECOMMENDED SCHOLARS CLASSES
Recommended Scholars classes will not be indicated on the transcript as "Scholars"; however, students will receive Scholars credit for these classes. These classes are generally listed after the regular Scholars course offerings in the schedule of classes.
PRIORITY ENROLLMENT
There is no priority enrollment for Summer and Winter Terms; however, we will have priority enrollment for Fall and Spring. All continuing Scholars students with an up-to-date educational plan have been identified in the computer and should automatically receive the priority dates during the 1st week of the enrollment period. Also, you should be able to sign up for all classes (including Scholars classes) by phone registration. Be sure to let a Scholars counselor know if you have any enrollment problems.COMPLETING SCHOLARS CLASSES
It is important that all Scholars students take at least one, and preferably two, Scholars classes each semester. Please be aware that if you do not take a Scholars class you may be put on Scholars probation or even dropped from the program. If you have a legitimate reason for not taking a Scholars class, please come and talk to one of the counselors. Scholars contracts will only be accepted on a limited basis.
