IN SOUTH AFRICA
Jan.9-Feb. 8, 2007

Explore the cultural and scenic landscapes of South Africa in a month-long Study Abroad program to be offered by Santa Monica College Jan. 9-Feb. 8, 2007.

Participants will witness how South Africa’s vast and uncluttered natural landscape coexists with bustling cities and tourist destinations. Highlights will include a safari in Kruger National park, sightseeing visits to Robben Island, Nelson Mandela's house, Soweto and the Apartheid Museum, and scenic and cultural tours in Cape Town.

The tour will be led by Prof. Barbara Baird, who worked as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times for 21 years, and Prof. Frank Dawson, who has 20 years’ experience as a television and entertainment industry executive.

Cost: $3,950 includes airfare, tours, ground transportation, rooms and most meals. Students will earn six units of college credit in communication.
