All recipients of College-owned computers are required to complete a 5 part workshop series.  The series is designed to assist you in using your computer efficiently and comfortably as soon as possible.  See the workshop schedule for dates and times.  Note that the fifth part of the series, Ergonomics, is now offered via CBT (computer-based training) available in the Faculty/Staff Lab.

We understand that some of you are experienced computer users.  If you would like to take one or more tests in order to be exempted from the workshops, you should go to the faculty/staff lab in the Media Center.  You may take the test there only.

• Internet Skills
• The SMC Computing Environment
• Troubleshooting Techniques
• Ergonomics

If you pass a test, you will receive credit for that workshop.  If you fail the test, you will be directed to attend the live workshop.  No retesting is necessary.   A passing score is 8 or more correct answers.  All tests consist of 10 multiple choice questions.
