| In
this edition of Voices, the political/economics
editors cannot help but try to understand the
time we live in through the articles we edit.
As we begin to understand the twenty-first century,
we see economies becoming interdependent, growing
increasingly sensitive to each other.
And as we step into the twenty-first
century, we see a new trend in patents, shifting
from physical property to intellectual property,
and the frightening urgency of a complete overhaul
of USA’s patent system to deal with this
new shift.
And as we enter the twenty-first
century, we see two ancient civilizations at war,
a war that has been waged since the Yon Kippur
War.
And as we glimpse into the twenty-first
century, USA’s political culture is making
another alignment towards conservatism, not seen
since Goldwater’s bid for presidency.
And as we are at the breach
of the twenty-first century, USA is still struggling
to find a workable justice system, but it comes
at a price of unfair prosecution.
And as we live in the
twenty-first century, we can only help but say
that we live in the most interesting of times.
