The Our Bodies section of Voices is dedicated to the honest, cross-cultural expression of women and their relationship to their bodies.

Our bodies are beautiful, chaotic, and necessary. We, as a movement of women, must continue to critique and challenge social norms that perpetuate the objectification and commodification of our bodies. This section is dedicated to the resistance of media-constructed femininity, and the creation of new social norms and images of women, by women. This section is also a place to celebrate our bodies, speak about women's health issues, and be explorers through the written word. This intricately woven social fabric is, for some, a definition of our worth; for others, an expression of freedom; and yet for others, a confusing, messy world, still unknown and complicated.

My hope is that all women tell their stories, and that in telling our stories, we validate herstory, the importance of our process, and the authority of our truth. By writing our truth we continue to add stones to a path that women, generations from now, will be walkingCharity Tooze on.

Thank you
