A Visit

Michelle Lee

We sat looking into each other's eyes
Yours, draped by your lids giving into gravity
Phrophesizing the pain, happiness & love you
once over came, repeating themselves for me
Mine, lined with black, lashes curled
Searching for the story of you, before mom

We sat hand in hand, same size molded by the same
Cast of the same blood
Yours, decorated by badges of wisdom and courage
Soothing comfort into…
Mine, polished red nails & encircled by silver bangles
Stinking of my last cigarette

We sat talking
You, about how life was once content,
And now, how life is tired of you
Me, about how life is a void
And how I'm tired of life

Two life time s between us
You at the end of an end
Me, beginning of an end

We sat listening to the clock ticking
For you, it's rhythm too slow
For me, it's rhythm too fast
