Cry of the Slave

Mariel Jasmin Johnson

Do I get freedom?Claudia Kleefel
Torn and broken, still I work?
To bare all profit, beaten and hurt
Days and nights without no care
This is the life we all must share
Don't sleep, don't eat, don't even fret
For if I do, my master will sell me yet
No self respect, no love, no life
Not worth live'n is all I cry
My prayer to God will make a change
So my children's children won't live life the
Same.
But for now, all I do is say,
When do I get my freedom?
My glory, my change?
