The
Office of Workforce & Economic Development is focused on developing
courses designed to support the skill development initiatives
of the private industry. We are committed to working with local
businesses in designing programs to meet the specific needs of
their employees. Through partnerships, many workers can develop
the skills necessary to increase productivity, retain employment
and/or help prevent the possibility of being laid-off.

The
Office of Workforce & Economic Development is continuously
seeking to develop partnerships with businesses, non-profit organizations
and community service agencies. Many programs we administer have
been the product of successful collaborations. To date, we have
partnered with entities such as the LA City Worksource Center
(Hollywood, Palms-Mar Vista, Career Partners, and Wilshire-Metro),
local tourist accommodations (Marriott and Crown Hotel), and the
Los Angeles Airport.
We
want to expand this network so we could continue to offer the
widest array of services and help the local economy gain strength
and stability.
