The Writing & Humanities Tutoring Center (WHTC), located in Drescher Hall 313, offers writing support services to all SMC students in all subject areas. Our goal is to help students become more confident, self-directed, and informed writers so that they can achieve greater academic and professional success.

Subjects for which tutoring is available in the WHTC:

  • Economics (by appt. only)

  • English

  • ESL

  • History (by appt. only)

  • Logic (Philosophy 7 and 9) 

  • Philosophy (by appt. only)

  • Psychology (by appt. only)

  • Political Science (by appt. only)

WHTC Hours

Beginning March 18, 2020, all SMC ​tutoring will be done online. Because of the coronavirus situation, there will be no in-person tutoring. 

To schedule an online session, click on the TUTORING APPOINTMENTS link in the upper left of your Corsair Connect homepage.

To schedule a tutoring appointment, log in to your Corsair Connect and select from the left-hand margin the link for Tutoring Appointments, as shown below.

Once you are on the Schedule page, scroll down the menu for the English/Writing or the Econ/History/Poli Sci schedule.

Writing tutoring also is available via walking in or scheduling an appointment:

Online Tutoring

Students in any SMC English course may receive online tutoring assistance by enrolling in
English 1E .
