The Welcome Center at Santa Monica College is a collaborative effort that is supported by both academic and student affairs. The Center maintains a “student first” philosophy to assist first-time SMC students, who have less than 30 college credits/units, as they transition to college. The Center offers a wide array of student services designed to accommodate their needs in a “One-Stop Center” that promotes student success and retention in a nurturing and welcoming environment. The Welcome Center staff will continue to support new students until they have successfully transitioned to other academic and student support services.
The Welcome Center is located in the Cayton Center/Cafeteria on the first floor in room 110. We are directly across from the Science Building and adjacent to the Health office. Look for the signs that lead to the Welcome Center.
