Dear Emeritus Community,
Happy New Year and welcome to Winter 2027!
As we begin another year of learning, growth, and connection, I want to thank each of you for being part of the remarkable Emeritus community. Every term, thousands of older adults choose Emeritus to stay engaged, discover new interests, strengthen existing skills, and build meaningful relationships. Your participation is what makes Emeritus such an inspiring program and a vibrant place.
The winter term may be our shortest semester, but it is one of the best opportunities to explore something new. Whether you are returning to a favorite class, continuing a long educational journey, or enrolling for the very first time, I encourage you to step outside your comfort zone and try a course you have never taken before. You may discover a new passion, meet a new friend, or uncover talents you never knew you had.
This year, we continue our efforts to expand access to lifelong learning throughout Santa Monica, Malibu, and our broader community. Our dedicated faculty and staff remain committed to providing high-quality educational experiences that support intellectual curiosity, creativity, wellness, and personal growth.
If you enjoy your experience at Emeritus, please help us spread the word. Tell your friends, neighbors, family members, healthcare providers, faith communities, and social groups about the opportunities available through our program. Many of our most successful recruitment efforts begin with a simple recommendation from a current student.
As a reminder, Emeritus students may initially enroll in a limited number of classes, but additional enrollment opportunities become available as the start of the term approaches. Take advantage of those opportunities to build a schedule that supports your interests and goals.
