Design & Learn Workshops - Spring 2026

DE is pleased to announce our upcoming Spring 2026 Design & Learn schedule

🗓️April 24 Workshop Webinar: Introducing the Multimedia Training Program: Elevate Your Course with Engaging Media - 12 PM - 1 PM

Description: Ready to take your course to the next level with video and multimedia? In this live workshop, we'll officially introduce the SMC Faculty Multimedia Training Program, your roadmap to creating compelling, professional-quality media for your courses. We'll kick off with a 15–20 minute overview presentation, then walk through the Canvas Training Modules together, so you know exactly where to go to build your skills. You'll also get a firsthand look at the Studio Lab and all the creative possibilities it unlocks. And don't miss the deep dive into NotebookLM, which is a powerful AI tool that makes it surprisingly easy to generate engaging, polished videos from your own content.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

Describe the structure and benefits of the SMC Faculty Multimedia Training Program and how to get started.
Navigate the Canvas Training Modules to independently continue multimedia skill development after the workshop.
Identify the tools and capabilities available in the Studio Lab for producing course media.
Use AI-powered text-to-video tools to generate engaging instructional videos from existing course content.

📌POCR - Peer Online Course Review

There are a few spaces available for highly motivated faculty that want to complete the POCR process this Fall.

Peer Online Course Review (POCR) is a formal process through which a faculty member can voluntarily request to have their course reviewed by their peers, using the Course Design Rubric. The primary goals are to:

• Improve course design and accessibility
• Improve student success and completion

In addition, POCR results in:

• Aligning a course to the CVC-OEI Course Design Rubric
• Obtaining a “Quality Reviewed” badge

Spring 2026 - @One Spring 2026 Course Offerings - No Cost to Faculty

There are still seats available in many of the CVC@ONE courses - including the popular Online Teaching and Design! The first session of classes begins on February 2, 2026 and are once again free to California Community College employees. While you're there, please also take a look at our self-paced courses. We offer courses in Creating Accessible Course Content and Introduction to Alternate Media, among others.

Registrants must use a California Community College (CCC) email address when registering and courses are open to both full-time and part-time employees. If you have any questions, please contact support@cvc.edu.
