development series designed to help faculty make practical improvements to their courses
before the start of the term. Sessions will focus on accessible Canvas design, documents,
slides, videos, and Universal Design for Learning strategies that support clearer,
more flexible, and more inclusive learning experiences.

Join us for the second session in the Accessibility & UDL in Action: Course Readiness Series, a hands-on summer professional development series designed to help faculty make
practical improvements to their courses before the start of the term.
This session will focus on creating accessible PowerPoint slides using the SMC PowerPoint
template as a flexible starting point. Faculty will learn how to use the template
in ways that support accessibility while still allowing for creativity, customization,
and discipline-specific design.
Topics will include slide structure, built-in layouts, unique slide titles, logical
reading order, alt text for images and charts, color contrast, font readability, uncluttered
slide design, and accessible exporting or sharing options.
