Mindfulness: Training the Mind to Stay in the Present Presenter: Dr. Alison Brown During times of uncertainty, the mind can get lost in worries about the future or remorse about the past. This is totally normal! Mindfulness practices, such as meditation, can assist us in training our restless minds to stay in the present moment for longer periods of time, and increase our capacity for calm, peace, and ease even in the midst of uncertainty. |

Turbo Hour with TurboFit Presenter: Turhan Douglas One of SMC's own amazing coaches, Turhan Douglas, has provided all members of the SMC community access to the TurboFit App! In this session, you will discover what is the TurboFit App, how to promote it to your students and fellow employees, conduct a quick 30-minute fitness session that you can do from the comfort of your own desk and learn more about the importance of posture and ergonomics while working in remote/hybrid environments. |

Tips for How to Make your Semester Easier with GPS Presenter: Stacey Jones, Jose Cue, Kristin Lui-Martinez, Gregory Brookins, Lori Williams Gateway to Persistence and Success (GPS) is a success and retention tool at SMC. We will show you how using kudos, flags, and referrals can support your students. The GPS Team will show how to edit your profile and add appointments to Outlook through GPS. The new GPS Ambassador team will be introduced. Finally, we will take your questions regarding the system. |

NSF Implementing Equity Practices Presenter: Andria Denmon, Chris Grant, Jing Liu, Silvana Carrion-Palomares STEM Faculty within the “NSF Grant: Fostering an Equity-minded Student Success Culture in STEM Through Faculty Development” have completed a yearlong training in equity, and now are focus on adopting equity practices in their courses. This workshop will review some of the practices they plan on implementing and how they will utilize them in their Fall STEM courses. |
