for College Employees

To request an account or reset your password, you need your SMC employee ID number from the back of your ID card.

Can't find your employee ID card?

  • Faculty: Contact Academic Personnel at 310-434-4415
  • Staff: Contact Classified Personnel 310-434-4415

Have an account and forgot your password?

Click reset your email/network password.

Need a new email and/or network account?

A network account lets you login to campus computers and access restricted web pages.

The same user name/password also accesses email if you request both.

This cannot be done until HR has entered all employment information.

First login after account creation or password reset

  • Your user name is generally LastName_FirstName. For example smith_john.

  • New/reset accounts use this initial password: santamonica-####, where santamonica is in lower case, followed by hyphen (or dash), followed by the last four digits of your Social Security number. For Example: santamonica-1234

  • The first time you login, you must change your password.

  • Passwords must be at least 14 characters long and have at least one upper case letter, one lower case letter and one number.
