October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. In October, we honor and support all survivors especially those still dealing with multiple acts of oppression including race, sexuality, gender and class.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought “shelter-in-place” guidelines. Students transitioned to their homes to continue their education. However, those public health guideline also mean that survivors of violence and abuse have fewer safe places and support systems outside the home. Domestic violence and abuse has increased around the world as the COVID Pandemic persists.  Everyone has the right to live free from violence.
