In this workshop, you will learn the tangible ways that the college is committed to

identities and communities. Come learn about SMC’s Student Equity Center; four centers

Justice Center,) …a virtual, and soon-to-be physical, space!
This workshop will discuss all the various measures the college has taken to prevent
the spread of COVID-19. Learn about our Road to Recovery (R2R), phased return to campus
plan and basic safety tips to keep you and your community safe!
The SMC Library is here to help you with your research! Come ask librarians questions,
see a website tour, find out where to chat for research help, and be introduced to
our wide array of databases, LibGuides, and videos to help you find the best resources
for your research needs.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic assistance program at Santa Monica College
that provides free out-of-class sessions to students enrolled in specific courses.
In SI sessions, SI leaders engage students in interactive group activities to help
them learn course concepts, prepare for exams, and learn effective study skills. Come
learn more!
In order to succeed academically, both your brain and body need the right amount of
daily nourishment. We are here to support you with access to fresh food. Learn about
free food programs and resources available to all SMC students.
Are you a parenting student and receiving CalWORKs (TANF) benefits from the LA County
Department of Public Social Service? Join this session to learn how the SMC CalWORKs
Program can support your educational journey. Parenting students who are not receiving
CalWORKs but want to learn if they qualify are also encouraged to attend.
SMC student parents may be eligible to receive free child care for their children
from 6-weeks to 5-years-old. Learn more about child care options, eligibility requirements,
and how to get started.
Are you a student from the Pico neighborhood? Learn about the Pico Partnership program,
a collaboration between SMC and the City of Santa Monica, designed to provide educational
support to students from the Pico neighborhood.
Learn about the services offered for undocumented students at SMC, including academic
counseling, immigration legal support, AB540, DACA, financial aid and scholarships.

This workshop will provide you with tips to help you successfully navigate your transition
to college in the current environment and to manage stress, test anxiety, mindfulness,
healthy relationships, and much more.
Undecided? SMC offers free Noncredit classes that can help you prepare for your major
or career interest. SMC offers a variety of free noncredit classes ranging from career
education certificates to noncredit ESL and citizenship preparation to help you build
your skills without affecting your GPA or financial aid.
Sustainability is in everything we do! Find out how to get involved through our eco-clubs,
growing food in the Organic Learning Garden, applying for a Student Job, taking a
Student Greening Workshop, attending events, or taking environmental classes.
The STEM Program at Santa Monica College is an academic support program designed to
help traditionally underrepresented students, interested in Science, Technology, Engineering
and Math (STEM) careers, successfully complete their studies at SMC, transfer to a
four year research orientated baccalaureate program, and enter the workforce. Santa
Monica College's STEM Initiatives foster the student skills necessary to excel in
STEM courses.
