Under the CDC order and California state law, landlords are prohibited from evicting any tenant for not paying rent or without a valid reason. To be protected against eviction, you are required to submit a declaration form stating your inability to pay due to COVID-19 related loss of income of increased expenses. The City of L.A. is opening thousands of new shelter beds to keep people safe during this public health emergency. Amenities include: showers, bathrooms, 3 meals a day, pets allowed (and pet food available), park space to walk around (practicing social distancing). For those taking public transportation, bus stops are listed below each shelter. Individuals should look for LA CityRide Buses (the smaller ones).
