MAS Program Overview
Maximizing Achievement in STEM (MAS) is an academic support program designed to assist students interested in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) majors/careers.
The MAS program mission is to help students in STEM successfully complete their educational goal at SMC, transfer to ANY baccalaureate program, and/or enter the STEM workforce.

Program Requirements for 2022-23
|Program Orientation||June 15th OR June 16th, 2022 (New Students)|
|STEM Skills Week||August 15 - 19, 2022 (New Students)|
STEM Program Courses :
Counseling 12, Counseling 15 and Science 10
|To be completed within the first year of program participation|
|Counseling Appointments||2 Per Semester|
|STEM Workshops||1 Per Semester|
|Peer Mentor Contacts||2 per semester|
Additional Program Recommendations:
1 STEM Course (minimum) every semester at SMC: Math (non-business), Computer Science, Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, Sustainable Technologies, Engineering)
Maintain at least a 2.8 GPA each semester
