Calling all Southern California Community College Students interested in STEM! The Base 11 Summer Fellowship is an opportunity to gain engineering skills from leading local universities, receive mentorship and get the inside track on what it really takes to transfer to a premiere university. Through this program, students learn the fundamentals of aerospace design, computer-aided design, 3D printing, basic electronics, and fabrication techniques. By working in teams under the guidance of graduate and undergraduate engineering and computer science students at the University of California, Irvine, students also gain experience with business plans, rapid-prototyping, and collaborative problem solving. At the conclusion of the program, students will prepare a poster and technical oral presentation. This is a residential program in which students are required to live on campus for the duration of the program.
