Student Support

On-Campus Involvement

Many students are looking to gain experience that will help them transition into the workforce. Part-time jobs, internships and volunteering in the community outside of school are great ways to gain experience in your field. However, all too often we meet students who tell us they haven't done anything that they can put on their resume or they are not yet ready to commit to a part-time job, internship, or a regularly scheduled volunteer opportunity.  Being involved in students clubs, programs, sports teams, productions, and/or other activities on campus is a great way to gain experience.

Here are some examples of how you can get involved at SMC:

And, don't forget, if you need help listing any of these or other leadership or work experiences on your resume, the Career Services Center can help you with that process. Feel free to schedule an appointment with us.
