For over 25 years, Aimée has been shaping the lives of children and adults through ballet. A native of Santa Monica, Aimée grew up at the Westside School of Ballet as a student, beginning at the age of 10. Her formal ballet training began with the founders, Yvonne Mounsey and Rosemary Valarie, formerly of New York City Ballet and the Royal Ballet respectively.
Her formative training was a perfect blend of the musicality and speed of the Balanchine method and the refinement of the Royal Ballet technique. In addition to her year-round training, Aimée also trained with the Boston Ballet and Pennsylvania-Milwaukee Ballet during her summers as well as the Hartford Ballet apprenticeship program.
With Westside Ballet, she performed in numerous classical productions such as Giselle, Coppeliá, Sleeping Beauty and the annual holiday classic The Nutcracker. Additionally, performing in George Balanchine’s neoclassical works of Serenade & Concerto Barocco.
Aimée has the pleasure of joining the Santa Monica College Dance Department as an adjunct professor. Additionally, Ms. Gaudio instructs at the Westside School of Ballet, in both the youth and adult divisions. She has also taught ballet at Crossroads School of Arts and Sciences and Loyal Marymount University.
Aimée participated in the Pacific Northwest Ballet Teacher Training seminar in Seattle, WA. Focusing on pointe work, repertoire, nutrition and injury prevention for pre-professional dancers. Along with this program, Ms. Gaudio participated in the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet Teacher Training seminar in Carlisle, PA. With an emphasis on the quality of movement and implementing a strong work ethic in young dancers. In addition, Aimée attended a Balanced Body Pilates Training workshop and then began assisting physical therapists in the clinic. Working with clients during their rehabilitation, she incorporated stretching and dance conditioning into their Pilates training. Blending these elements helped the clients return to their everyday activities stronger and more agile. Presently, her application of the Pilates method to her teaching has helped to make her students strong and well-rounded dancers.
