Vice President, Human Resources
Marcy Wade was appointed Vice President of Human Resources in April 2007. She has
over 30 years of human resources management experience, 18 of them in community colleges.
Before coming to SMC, Wade served as associate vice president at El Camino College
in Torrance. She has also served on the City of Manhattan Beach, the California State
University Chancellor’s Office in Long Beach, and Security Pacific Auto Finance Corporate
Headquarters in Westlake Village.
Wade remains active in a number of business, professional, and service organizations and has held leadership positions with the Association of California Community College Administrators, Association of Chief Human Resources Officers/Equal Employment Offices, Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority, Inc., and is an elected member of California Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee. Wade is chair of the Success4UFoundation, a teen leadership organization for girls in Riverside County and does volunteer work through her church community, St. Bernadette, in Los Angeles.
A native of Los Angeles, she received her bachelor’s degree in communications studies from UCLA and a master of public administration degree from California State University at Dominguez Hills.
