Roberta Wolin-Tupas, originally from Washington, D.C., has a BA in Literature from Reed College and MA in Choreography and Performance from UCLA. From 1999 - 2007, she was Producer of Marion Scott's Spirit Dances series, and was nominated for two Lester Horton Awards for Outstanding Production of the Spirit Dances series. Wolin-Tupas is Co-Artistic of R Dance Company, and has created a large body of original, critically acclaimed modern dance works. Her choreography has been presented at Bergamot Station, Broad Stage, Highway Performance Space, Miles Playhouse, UCLA, Wilshire Ebell, California Choreographers Festival, Brand Library Modern Dance Series, L.A. Open Festival. Wolin-Tupas served as Co-Artistic Director of SMC's Synapse Dance Theater and has been involved in bringing students to American College Dance Festival. Her choreography was performed at ACDFA in 2012 and 2014.

Since 1997, she has also brought creative dance experiences to thousands of pre-K and elementary school students in the Los Angeles area. She has been a faculty member at California State University, Los Angeles and Glendale College, and continues to teach at Santa Monica College.
