    Current employment status.

Food Scientist at Power Brands Consulting.

Something I loved about being part of the STEM Program.

The STEM Program helped me immensely with navigating college and the beginning of my career as well as giving me life-long friendships. I had access to tutors, other resources, and a community of friends and peers that made the journey of studying for a STEM degree much easier.

A resource or support program that help you in your transition from the community college to your transfer university.

The tutors were a great resource because they had taken courses I was interesting in or needed to take so their understanding in the subject material was helping for my work but their mentorship for my overall major was a great guidance.

What is it like to now work in your field?

Although my degree is in molecular biology, I am currently a food scientist! I love experimenting with flavors and other ingredients to make a product that anyone can enjoy.

    Any advice?

For biology, I would always aim for understand overall concepts more than details and this can help in becoming more creative when designing experiments! for food science, experimenting with wild ideas is what can lead to innovative products!

Any STEM Shortcuts/hacks you can share?

talk to professors!! advice from people in your field, especially if you dream of being in their position one day is always good to hear, even if you don't follow it.

If you had to give advice to yourself when you first started at SMC, what would you say?

don't be afraid to try different classes you're interesting in because you never know where following an interest can take you!

Outside of STEM and related activities, what do you enjoy doing?

playing guitar, taking road trips, and taking naps with my cat.
