Lab manager at MIT.
The stem program provided me with so many connections and teaching experience! Usually, the highlight of my day would be going to the STEM lab to study, tutor, and just talk to others in the program. In my next university I also met others who benefitted from the STEM program at SMC, and so the lab acted like a nice icebreaker to make new connections!
Peer support, tutoring.
I've had a bit of a journey, but I love how much research I've gotten within the field of Psychology. I'm in a few labs preparing for grad school, and it's really amazing to on a daily be asking questions that interest me.
Any experience is experience, it's all about how you shape it! Moving between many different fields it felt hard to sell myself and my skills, but if you remember your story, your strikes of passion leading you to go to the place you want to go, then employers/professors will see what you can offer.
When studying, TALK! To really learn the material, find a bit about the subject you love and teach it to yourself and whoever you can find.
Once you know your path, talk to an advisor ASAP! I spent an extra year at SMC because I was unfocused. The counselors are amazing and they're there to help you!!!
I'm running to prepare for a marathon (scary!), and I love improv, board games, rock climbing, music, and filmmaking!
