Something I loved about being part of the STEM Program.

I loved the huge amount of support I received during my time in the STEM Program. The community of students and counselors was what made it so special, and I don’t think I’d be where I am today without them. I struggled with impostor syndrome a lot during community college, but connecting with people who shared my interests gave me the confidence to pursue opportunities in engineering that I might have overlooked.

A resource or support program that help you in your transition from the community college to your transfer university.

    Counselors!

Any STEM Shortcuts/hacks you can share?

Always look at the STEM Program IG stories. So many opportunities are shared and it is where I would always look for summer internships or other job opportunities. I still keep updated through the program's IG stories even after transferring since they share lots of opportunities that aren't just exclusive to community college students.

If you had to give advice to yourself when you first started at SMC, what would you say?

Create more of a structure with study routine and go to the tutoring center for help with homework!

Outside of STEM and related activities, what do you enjoy doing?

I enjoy sunbathing on the beach, cooking, and trying out new restaurants in San Diego!
