Here's How it Works

Enroll

Once enrolled in course(s) Slingshot will begin preparing the course materials for all courses you are enrolled in, and will create your personalized account. Log in and manage your course material preferences. If you choose not to participate in Slingshot, students have the option to purchase materials individually under the “Buy Books” tab, or elsewhere.*

Pay **

View and pay your Smart Study balance in your account or at the SMC store. Your balance will be $32 per unit + tax. Eligible vouchers are applied automatically. Units for courses with no course materials cost are excluded.

Access

You will receive an email notification to pick up physical course materials from the SMC store when they are ready. Digital course materials will be available in your Slingshot account under the “My Course Materials” tab. Slingshot ensures you have your required materials by the first day of class.

Learn

You are ready to succeed! Start your class with peace of mind and all of your required materials. If you have a rented course material, you can return the course material at the end of the semester at the SMC store, or print a pre-paid shipping label from your Slingshot account.
