



Apply to the Cloud Computing Bachelor’s Degree Program for Fall 2027

Thank you for your interest in our bachelor's degree program. This page helps students
to prepare and complete their application to the bachelor's degree program.
Important: Complete Your Application in One Sitting
The application can't be saved partway through. Have all your documents and essays
ready before you start, and plan to finish in one sitting.
Required Information and Other Materials - Be sure to have the following before you begin your application:
1. Santa Monica College Student ID : You must have an SMC ID before starting the application. A valid student SMC email
account/username (not your SMC student ID #) and password is required to access the
application portal. New students must first apply to Santa Monica College through
SMC Admissions and Records via the link: www.smc.edu/apply. Returning students who have not attended SMC for two consecutive semesters must
reapply to SMC prior to applying to the bachelor's degree program.
2. College Transcripts : We will use these to determine your eligibility to participate in this program as
they should show you have completed 60 semester units and all the classes that are
required to apply (CS 79A, CS 79B, CS 79C, CS 79D, STATS C1000 or the equivalent,
ENGL C1000 or the equivalent and a second course in oral communication). Submit all
college/university transcripts including colleges you attended during high school,
College Board AP score report, and/or evaluated foreign institutions. Official transcripts
should also be filed directly with the SMC Admissions and Records Office. SMC coursework
associated with your student ID does not need to be submitted on this application,
as we have access to it already. All other college work needs to be submitted so
we can properly award you credit to help you complete the degree requirements on time.
3. Recommendations : Although not required, you may upload as many as two academic, professional or personal
recommendations in support of your participation in this degree program.
4. Personal Statements : The application will ask you to author an essay response to each of the following
prompts.

- Think of an academic subject that interests and inspires you. Describe how you
have furthered this interest over time.
- Beyond what you have already shared in your application, what do you believe makes
you a strong candidate for admission to the Cloud Program at Santa Monica College?
