Mercedes Juan Musotto, Conductor. Join us for a joyful, family-friendly afternoon of music, movement, and imagination in this special SMC Symphony Orchestra children's concert, presented in collaboration with the SMC Dance Department. This vibrant program features storytelling through both sound and motion, brought to life by the SMC Orchestra, with original choreography by SMC Dance alums April Torres and Layla Fowler.
With dancers performing throughout the theater—in the aisles, balconies, and more—this immersive concert turns the entire space into a playground for the senses. Children and families will be captivated by the magical blend of orchestral music, dance, and theatrical moments that celebrate creativity and wonder. Perfect for first-time concertgoers and seasoned music lovers alike, this event promises an unforgettable artistic experience for all ages. Support for this performance and interdisciplinary collaboration is provided in part by the Ilona Jo Katz Chair of Excellence in Music grant (2024-2027).
