Pearls of Wisdom: What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
Buckle down in in college and treat education more seriously!
How would your advice to your 50-year-old self differ?
Spend less time working and more time with my kids!
What are some of your biggest accomplishments in life?
- Had two successful careers: 29 years in department store merchandising, then at age 55, transitioned to Financial planning were I practiced for 18 years.
- 50 years of non profit fundraising. First for Jewish Federation where I was campaign chairman while living in Boston. Then 20 years raising money for Juvenile Diabetes. Then in 2004 after my son was diagnosed with MS we formed a team in the MS Walk; and then a bike team. Over the past 21 years, our family has raised over $2.5 million to help find a cure.
The SMC Emeritus Program has helped me as a lifelong learner because it has challenged me to try new areas of learning I would not otherwise be exposed to: Readers theater, Ti Chi,. Illusion.
The best part about being an SMC Emeritus student is Sense of community.
