The first step in fighting climate change is learning about it. Santa Monica College is hosting a week of 100% remote and free daily events to honor Earth Day and spread awareness. Check with your professors to see if you can gain extra credit for attendance.

(Zoom Link) Documentary Screening- "Disobedience"-a 2016 film revolving around environmental movements around the world fighting against the use of fossil fuels- by 350.org.

Wednesday, April 21

Zoom link- Inter-Club Panel on Environmental Activism. Clubs like Amnesty International SMC,Club Grow, Wistem, SMC Scriptwriting and SMC Pre - Health Association will share their views on environmental justice from their sphere of work and discuss it from a multidimensional perspective. 

Thursday, April 22

Zoom linkGuest Speaker , Cris Guitierez (Climate Corps Program Director) from CASM speaking about the multigenerational view of activism. 


Students earning extra credit must sign up (same link as above)They will be asked a few questions relating to each event they participate in. If you answer enough questions right, your name will be sent to your professor for extra credit.
