Barbara Gannen earned a BFA in Theater from Ithaca College and an MFA from Hunter College, City University of New York where she studied under the tutelage of Harold Clurman of the Group Theater. She has worked as an actress and director in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, occasionally to critical acclaim. For eight years she worked as a Story Analyst for Studios, Networks, Agencies, Independent Production Companies as well as stars. She was the V.P of Development for Miss M Productions where BEACHES was developed for Bette Midler. For 25 years she taught at The Margie Haber Studio, and had a coaching practice. She has been teaching at EMERITUS for the past 24 years.
