Ming Lu has been teaching accounting at Santa Monica College since 2006. Besides
teaching his classes, Ming has several passion projects. Every year, he organizes
the Accounting Diversity Conference (opens in new window) which aims to encourage and empower students (especially underrepresented minority
students) to pursue a career in accounting. In addition, he runs an accounting-focused
YouTube channel, “Accounting Is for You (opens in new window) ” where he interviews a wide variety of accounting professionals (including his former
students) about their careers and success strategies. Lastly, he presents financial
literacy workshops to different student groups throughout the year to educate students
