SMC Remains Open

SANTA MONICA, CA—Santa Monica College (SMC) will be open, with classes in session on Thursday, October 31 based on current air quality. The college will remain open daily henceforth, until further notification.

SMC’s emergency management team continues to monitor the conditions related to the fires in Southern California, and is using the following agency websites to assess air quality: Purpleair.com; Airnow.gov; and AQMD.gov. If anything changes, the college will update you via SMC email, the official Twitter account @SMC_edu, and the college website smc.edu.

Students who live in an area affected by a fire and/or have fire-related concerns should contact their instructor(s) to make appropriate accommodations; faculty and staff should contact their department chair or immediate supervisor.
